Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 200 grams, thinly sliced
  • Bok choy - 200 grams, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons (Kosher certified)
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the beef slices with soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of black pepper. Let marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the chopped bok choy to the skillet, stir-frying for about 2-3 minutes until it wilts but remains crunchy.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet. Pour in the water and sesame oil, stirring everything together. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through and combine flavors.
  6. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
