Ingredients
- Beef sirloin - 250 grams, thinly sliced against the grain
- Black bean sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Soy sauce (Halal) - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Bell pepper (red or green) - 1 medium, sliced
- Onion - 1 medium, sliced
- Spring onions - 2, chopped
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 100 ml
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with cornstarch, soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of black bean sauce. Mix well and let marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add garlic, ginger, and sliced onion, stir-frying for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the sliced bell pepper to the pan and stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes until slightly tender.
- Return the cooked beef to the pan, add the remaining black bean sauce, sugar, and water. Stir well to combine and cook for another 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle chopped spring onions on top before serving.
