Ingredients
- Beef (top round or flank steak) - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Hoisin sauce - 30 ml
- Honey - 15 grams
- Rice vinegar - 15 ml
- Garlic powder - 5 grams
- Ginger powder - 5 grams
- Red pepper flakes - 2 grams
- Black pepper - 1 gram
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
Steps
- Slice the beef into thin strips, about 0.5 cm thick, and place them in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic powder, ginger powder, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Pour the marinade over the beef strips, ensuring they are well-coated, and cover the bowl. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the oven to 70°C (160°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the marinated beef strips in a single layer on the baking sheet, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and leave the door slightly ajar to allow moisture to escape. Dry the beef for 3 to 4 hours, or until they reach your desired texture, flipping halfway through.
- Once dried, remove the beef jerky from the oven and let it cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
