Ingredients
- Beef sirloin - 250 grams, thinly sliced
- Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
- Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Broccoli florets - 100 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Gluten-free soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
- Rice (jasmine or basmati) - 150 grams, uncooked
- Water - 300 ml
- Green onions - 2, chopped for garnish
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon for garnish
Steps
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then combine with 300 ml of water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is fluffy.
- While the rice is cooking, mix the sliced beef with cornstarch and set aside for 10 minutes.
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the beef to the skillet, stirring frequently until browned for about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced shiitake mushrooms, bell pepper, and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for about 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet crisp.
- Return the beef to the skillet and add the gluten-free soy sauce. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes to combine flavors.
- Serve the beef and mushroom stir-fry over the cooked rice, garnishing with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
