Ingredients

  • Beef (sirloin or flank steak) - 250 grams, thinly sliced
  • Green bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Onion - 1 small, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced onion and green bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and stir everything together. Drizzle with sesame oil and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper if needed. Stir-fry for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.
