  • Green beans - 150 grams, trimmed
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Beef broth - 400 milliliters
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the trimmed green beans and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
  4. Return the beef to the pan with the green beans, add the oyster sauce, beef broth, and water. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes.
  5. Drizzle with sesame oil, season with black pepper, and adjust salt if needed. Stir well to combine.
  6. Serve the soup stir-fry hot, garnished with chopped spring onions.
