Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 200 grams, thinly sliced
  • Carrots - 150 grams, julienned
  • Bell pepper - 100 grams, sliced (any color)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer and sear for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the julienned carrots and sliced bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return the beef to the skillet and toss everything together. Drizzle with sesame oil and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Add chopped spring onions before serving. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
