Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 200 grams, thinly sliced
  • Broccoli florets - 200 grams
  • Cheddar cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the skillet, cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in the soy sauce and black pepper, then remove from heat.
  4. In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and blanch the broccoli florets for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and sesame oil. Add the cooked beef mixture, blanched broccoli, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
