Ingredients

  • beef sirloin - 250 grams, thinly sliced
  • bell pepper (red) - 1 medium, sliced
  • bell pepper (green) - 1 medium, sliced
  • soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
  • vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • scallions - 2, chopped
  • black pepper - to taste
  • sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. While the beef is marinating, prepare the bell peppers by slicing them into thin strips.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced bell peppers to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
  6. Return the cooked beef to the skillet, add chopped scallions, and season with black pepper. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  7. Serve the stir-fry hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
