Ingredients

  • Pork ribs - 500 grams
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Stevia or Erythritol - 2 teaspoons (optional, for sweetness)
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, five-spice powder, stevia or erythritol, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place the pork ribs in a large resealable bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Line a baking tray with aluminum foil for easier cleanup.
  4. Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them on the prepared baking tray. Reserve the marinade for later use.
  5. Cover the ribs with another piece of aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 hours until tender.
  6. While the ribs are baking, simmer the reserved marinade in a small saucepan over medium heat for about 10 minutes to thicken slightly.
  7. After 1.5 hours, remove the ribs from the oven, discard the top foil, and brush the thickened marinade over the ribs.
  8. Increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) and bake the ribs uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes, basting once or twice, until the ribs are caramelized and slightly charred.
  9. Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve garnished with chopped green onions.
