Ingredients
- Pork ribs - 500 grams
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Stevia or Erythritol - 2 teaspoons (optional, for sweetness)
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, five-spice powder, stevia or erythritol, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Place the pork ribs in a large resealable bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Line a baking tray with aluminum foil for easier cleanup.
- Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them on the prepared baking tray. Reserve the marinade for later use.
- Cover the ribs with another piece of aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 hours until tender.
- While the ribs are baking, simmer the reserved marinade in a small saucepan over medium heat for about 10 minutes to thicken slightly.
- After 1.5 hours, remove the ribs from the oven, discard the top foil, and brush the thickened marinade over the ribs.
- Increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) and bake the ribs uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes, basting once or twice, until the ribs are caramelized and slightly charred.
- Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve garnished with chopped green onions.
