- Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Scallions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, five-spice powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the duck wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours for better flavor.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the duck wings from the marinade and reserve the marinade for basting.
- Place the duck wings on the grill and cook for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with the reserved marinade.
- The wings are done when they are crispy and caramelized, with an internal temperature of at least 75°C (165°F).
- Remove from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped scallions before serving.
