Ingredients

  • Duck wings - 500 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Hoisin sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Five-spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Scallions - 2, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, five-spice powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the duck wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours for better flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the duck wings from the marinade and reserve the marinade for basting.
  5. Place the duck wings on the grill and cook for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with the reserved marinade.
  6. The wings are done when they are crispy and caramelized, with an internal temperature of at least 75°C (165°F).
  7. Remove from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with chopped scallions before serving.
