Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams, cut into 2cm cubes
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Shaoxing wine - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Wooden skewers - 4, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, ground cumin, ground coriander, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the marinade and mix well to ensure all pieces are coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated beef cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
