Ingredients
- Glutinous rice - 150 grams
- Water - 300 ml
- Bamboo shoots (fresh or canned) - 100 grams, chopped
- Mushrooms (shiitake or button) - 50 grams, sliced
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
- Chopped cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 30 minutes.
- In a pot, bring 300 ml of water to a boil, then add the soaked rice and a pinch of salt.
- Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low, cooking for about 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- In a separate pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat, add chopped bamboo shoots and sliced mushrooms, and sauté for 5-7 minutes until soft.
- Add soy sauce, chopped green onions, and pepper to the pan, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and mix it gently with the bamboo and mushroom mixture.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
