Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 100 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cabbage, finely chopped - 100 grams
  • Carrot, grated - 50 grams
  • Mushrooms, finely chopped - 50 grams
  • Green onions, chopped - 30 grams
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon (for dusting)
  • Cooking oil - 1 tablespoon (for brushing)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add warm water and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  2. In a pan over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add the chopped cabbage, grated carrot, and chopped mushrooms. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
  3. Add the chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper to the vegetable mixture. Stir well and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool slightly.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Divide the rested dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a thin circle on a lightly floured surface.
  5. Place a spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
  6. Arrange the dumplings on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with cooking oil to promote browning.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown and crispy. Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
