Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 200 grams
  • Fresh spinach - 150 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  4. Add the cubed tofu and toss gently to coat. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  5. In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of water and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  6. Add the fresh spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.
  7. In a baking dish, spread the sautéed spinach evenly, then place the marinated tofu on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the tofu is golden and slightly crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot.
