Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Warm water - 100 ml
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 5 grams
- Salt - 3 grams
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh spinach - 150 grams
- Mushrooms (finely chopped) - 100 grams
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Green onions (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, then knead until a smooth dough forms (about 5-7 minutes).
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a pan, heat a little oil and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add the chopped mushrooms and cook until soft.
- Add the fresh spinach to the pan and cook until wilted. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, and black pepper. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and flatten it into a circle.
- Place a tablespoon of the spinach filling in the center of each circle. Fold the edges over to seal and shape into a bun.
- Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise for an additional 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the buns for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
