Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Drain the tofu and press it between paper towels to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
  3. Cut the pressed tofu into 1.5 cm cubes.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the sesame oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  5. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade, gently tossing to coat all sides. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the marinated tofu cubes in a single layer.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the tofu cubes.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tofu is golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
