- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Drain the tofu and press it between paper towels to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
- Cut the pressed tofu into 1.5 cm cubes.
- In a bowl, mix together the sesame oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the tofu cubes to the marinade, gently tossing to coat all sides. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the marinated tofu cubes in a single layer.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the tofu cubes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tofu is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
