Ingredients

  • Daikon radish - 200 grams, grated
  • All-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • Cornstarch - 30 grams
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon (for greasing)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Grate the daikon radish and place it in a clean kitchen towel, squeezing out excess moisture.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated radish, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, chopped green onion, grated ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form a thick batter.
  4. Grease a baking tray with vegetable oil. Using your hands or a spoon, shape the radish mixture into small cakes (about 5 cm in diameter) and place them on the tray.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cakes are golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through for even cooking.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
