- Pork belly - 300 grams
- Coconut aminos - 2 tablespoons
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Coconut flour - 100 grams
- Almond flour - 100 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 100 ml
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, mix the coconut aminos, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add the pork belly and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Place the marinated pork belly on a baking tray and roast in the oven for 45 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the meat is tender.
- While the pork belly is baking, prepare the buns. In a mixing bowl, combine coconut flour, almond flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg and water together, then add to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each one into a small bun. Place them on a parchment-lined baking tray.
- Once the pork belly is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Assemble the buns by placing a slice of pork belly inside each bun. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs or pickled vegetables.
