Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs - 4 pieces (approximately 600g)
  • Soy sauce - 60ml
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon (15g)
  • Fresh ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated (15g)
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon (15ml)
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon (8g)
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Spring onions - 2 stalks, chopped for garnish
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, cornstarch, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Place the chicken thighs in a baking dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Arrange the chicken thighs skin-side up in the baking dish and pour any remaining marinade over the top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
  6. Once done, remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
