Ingredients

  • Pork shoulder - 300 grams
  • Coconut aminos - 4 tablespoons
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Five spice powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine coconut aminos, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, five spice powder, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Cut the pork shoulder into strips about 2.5 cm wide and immerse them in the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator for more flavor.
  4. Place the marinated pork strips on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are spaced apart.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning the pork halfway through cooking, until the meat is cooked through and slightly caramelized.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the pork rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
