Ingredients

  • Black sesame seeds - 50 grams
  • Glutinous rice flour - 100 grams
  • Coconut sugar - 30 grams
  • Water - 150 ml
  • Red bean paste - 50 grams
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Pinch of salt - 1

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour, coconut sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Gradually add water to the flour mixture while stirring until it forms a smooth dough.
  4. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions (about 25 grams each) and roll each portion into a ball.
  5. Flatten each ball into a disk and place about 6 grams of red bean paste in the center, then fold the edges over to seal and roll back into a ball.
  6. Roll each ball in black sesame seeds until fully coated.
  7. Place the sesame-coated balls on the prepared baking tray, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the balls are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
