Ingredients
- Jasmine rice - 150 grams
- Halal chicken breast - 200 grams
- Chicken broth - 500 ml
- Ginger - 10 grams, sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 15 minutes.
- In a pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil and add sliced ginger and minced garlic. Let it simmer for 5 minutes to infuse flavors.
- Add the soaked rice to the broth and stir well. Cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the broth.
- While the rice is cooking, season the halal chicken breast with soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the chicken breast for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it gently with a fork. Serve the rice in bowls, topped with sliced chicken, and garnish with chopped green onion and fresh cilantro.
