Ingredients

  • Jasmine rice - 150 grams
  • Halal chicken breast - 200 grams
  • Chicken broth - 500 ml
  • Ginger - 10 grams, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 15 minutes.
  2. In a pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil and add sliced ginger and minced garlic. Let it simmer for 5 minutes to infuse flavors.
  3. Add the soaked rice to the broth and stir well. Cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the broth.
  4. While the rice is cooking, season the halal chicken breast with soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the chicken breast for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. Once the rice is cooked, fluff it gently with a fork. Serve the rice in bowls, topped with sliced chicken, and garnish with chopped green onion and fresh cilantro.
