- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Whole wheat hamburger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 4
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2 medium, sliced
- Cheddar cheese - 2 slices
- Onion - 1 small, sliced
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Ketchup - 1 tablespoon
- Mustard - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper, and form into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Cook the beef patties in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the vegetables by washing the lettuce, slicing the tomato, cucumber, and onion.
- Once the patties are nearly done, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.
- Toast the whole wheat hamburger buns in the skillet until lightly golden.
- Assemble the burger by spreading mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the bottom bun.
- Layer with lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato, cucumber, and onion.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
