  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Whole wheat hamburger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 4
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1/2 medium, sliced
  • Cheddar cheese - 2 slices
  • Onion - 1 small, sliced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Ketchup - 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper, and form into two equal-sized patties.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  3. Cook the beef patties in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the vegetables by washing the lettuce, slicing the tomato, cucumber, and onion.
  5. Once the patties are nearly done, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.
  6. Toast the whole wheat hamburger buns in the skillet until lightly golden.
  7. Assemble the burger by spreading mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the bottom bun.
  8. Layer with lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato, cucumber, and onion.
  9. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
