- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, sliced
- Whole grain burger buns - 2
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Onion - 1 small, sliced
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 2 equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place the mozzarella slices on top of the patties and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
- While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion and prepare the lettuce leaves.
- Once the patties are cooked and the cheese is melted, toast the whole grain buns in the skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the cheesy patty, sliced tomatoes, and onions. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your healthy X-Mussarela burger!
