Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, sliced
  • Whole grain burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Onion - 1 small, sliced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 2 equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, place the mozzarella slices on top of the patties and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  5. While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion and prepare the lettuce leaves.
  6. Once the patties are cooked and the cheese is melted, toast the whole grain buns in the skillet until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the cheesy patty, sliced tomatoes, and onions. Top with the other half of the bun.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your healthy X-Mussarela burger!
