  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2, dairy-free
  • Lettuce leaves - 2, for serving
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Avocado - 1, sliced
  • Hot sauce - to taste

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, red and green bell peppers, onion, garlic, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape into burger patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns in a separate skillet or oven until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, sliced tomato, and avocado. Drizzle with hot sauce to taste.
  6. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
