- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Burger buns - 2, dairy-free
- Lettuce leaves - 2, for serving
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Avocado - 1, sliced
- Hot sauce - to taste
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, red and green bell peppers, onion, garlic, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape into burger patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns in a separate skillet or oven until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, sliced tomato, and avocado. Drizzle with hot sauce to taste.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
