Ingredients
- Picanha beef - 300 grams
- Kosher salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Burger buns - 2 units
- Cheddar cheese - 2 slices
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium (sliced)
- Pickles - 4 slices
Steps
- Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat.
- While the grill is heating, shape the picanha beef into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Season both sides of the patties with kosher salt and black pepper.
- Once the grill is hot, add the olive oil and place the patties on the grill.
- Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty.
- Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the beef reaches your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add the lettuce, followed by the cooked picanha patty with melted cheese.
- Top with tomato slices and pickles before placing the other half of the bun on top.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
