- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Gluten-free burger buns - 2
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Cheddar cheese - 2 slices
- Pickles - 4 slices
Steps
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
- Add the beef short ribs to the pot, browning them on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
- Sprinkle in smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the ribs with the spices.
- Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low, cooking for 1.5 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
- Once cooked, remove the ribs from the pot and let them cool slightly. Shred the meat using two forks, discarding any excess fat and bones.
- Toast the gluten-free burger buns lightly on a skillet or grill.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a generous amount of shredded beef on the bottom half of the bun, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
