Ingredients

  • lean ground beef - 250 grams
  • turkey bacon - 4 slices
  • whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • lettuce leaves - 2
  • onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and cook the turkey bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Form into 2 patties.
  3. Using the same skillet, add a little olive oil and cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, mix the mustard and lime juice in a small bowl to create a zesty sauce.
  5. Toast the whole wheat burger buns lightly in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  6. To assemble the burgers, spread the mustard-lime sauce on the bottom bun, add the beef patty, top with crispy turkey bacon, avocado slices, tomato, onion, and lettuce. Place the top bun on and serve.
