Ingredients

  • Seitan - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Red chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red wine vinegar - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix together olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, black pepper, salt, and lemon juice to create a marinade.
  2. Cut the seitan into thick slices resembling picanha, then coat them with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the seitan is marinating, prepare the chimichurri sauce by combining parsley, cilantro, red chili flakes, and red wine vinegar in a small bowl. Add a pinch of salt and mix well.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Once the grill is hot, place the marinated seitan slices on it. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the seitan is heated through.
  6. Serve the grilled seitan with the chimichurri sauce drizzled on top or on the side.
