Ingredients

  • Okra - 250 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons

  • Onion - 1 small, diced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Wash the okra under cold water and cut off the ends. Slice the okra into 1 cm thick pieces.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced okra to the skillet and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it starts to soften.
  6. Incorporate the diced tomato, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice into the skillet. Cook for another 5 minutes until the tomatoes are softened and the okra is tender.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro before serving.
