- Okra - 250 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, diced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Wash the okra under cold water and cut off the ends. Slice the okra into 1 cm thick pieces.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced okra to the skillet and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it starts to soften.
- Incorporate the diced tomato, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice into the skillet. Cook for another 5 minutes until the tomatoes are softened and the okra is tender.
- Remove from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro before serving.
