Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 500 grams

  • Milk - 100 ml

  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chives (for garnish) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into even-sized pieces.
  2. Place the potatoes in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
  3. While the potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the garlic butter, milk, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if necessary.
