  • stale bread - 200 grams
  • milk - 300 ml
  • sugar - 100 grams
  • eggs - 2 large
  • vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • butter - 20 grams (for greasing)
  • raisins - 50 grams (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a small baking dish with butter.
  3. Tear the stale bread into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  5. Pour the milk mixture over the torn bread, allowing it to soak for 10 minutes.
  6. If using, stir in the raisins into the soaked bread mixture.
  7. Pour the bread mixture into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
