Ingredients
- Sweetened condensed milk - 200 grams
- Whole milk - 200 milliliters
- Eggs - 2 large
- Sugar - 100 grams (for caramel)
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Pinch of salt
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns a golden brown, swirling the pan to avoid burning. Quickly pour the caramel into a round baking dish, tilting to coat the bottom evenly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into the caramel-coated baking dish.
- Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan filled with hot water (this is a water bath) to help cook the pudim evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until the pudim is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
- To serve, run a knife around the edges of the pudim and invert it onto a plate.
