Steps
- In a bowl, mix warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the apple topping by melting butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced apples, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the apples are tender and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
