- Fresh basil leaves - 10 grams
- Vegan cheese (optional) - 100 grams
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and caramelized.
- Add balsamic vinegar to the onions, stirring well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vinegar has mostly evaporated. Remove from heat.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape. Transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the pizza dough. If using vegan cheese, sprinkle it over the onions.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
