Ingredients

  • Whole wheat pizza dough - 200 grams
  • Broccoli florets - 150 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Tomato sauce - 100 grams
  • Nutritional yeast - 3 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Oregano - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • Fresh basil leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. In a pot of boiling water, blanch the broccoli florets for 2-3 minutes until bright green, then drain and set aside.
  3. Roll out the whole wheat pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  4. Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat, add the minced garlic, and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  7. Add the blanched broccoli to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, oregano, and red chili flakes if using, and sauté for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle the nutritional yeast over the sautéed broccoli, mixing well.
  9. Spread the broccoli mixture evenly over the tomato sauce on the pizza.
  10. Top with halved cherry tomatoes.
  11. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy.
  12. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
