Ingredients

  • Popcorn kernels - 100 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Nutritional yeast - 2 tablespoons
  • Smoked paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a large pot with a lid, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add a few popcorn kernels to the pot and cover with the lid. Wait until those kernels pop to ensure the oil is hot enough.
  3. Once the test kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels to the pot and cover again.
  4. Shake the pot occasionally to prevent the popcorn from burning, and continue cooking until the popping slows down to about 2 seconds between pops.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and carefully transfer the popcorn to a large bowl.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the sea salt, nutritional yeast, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  7. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the popcorn while it's still warm, and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your healthy Pipoca de Milho!
