- Brown sugar - 100 grams
- Maple syrup - 2 tablespoons
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a large pot, heat the coconut oil over medium heat. Add the popcorn kernels and cover the pot.
- Shake the pot occasionally until the popping slows down. Once popped, remove from heat and set aside.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, maple syrup, water, and salt. Stir continuously until the mixture starts to bubble.
- Allow the caramel to cook for about 2-3 minutes without stirring until it thickens slightly.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the caramel sauce over the popped popcorn and quickly toss to coat evenly.
- Spread the caramel-coated popcorn onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
