Ingredients

  • Picanha beef - 400 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2 units
  • Fresh arugula - 40 grams
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Cheddar cheese - 2 slices
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Trim any excess fat from the picanha and cut it into two equal portions.
  3. Rub the picanha portions with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  4. Drizzle olive oil on the grill or skillet, then place the picanha on it.
  5. Grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
  6. In the last couple of minutes of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each burger to melt.
  7. While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a separate pan until golden brown.
  8. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and lime juice to create a tangy sauce.
  9. Assemble the burgers by spreading the lime mayo on the bottom bun, adding arugula, the grilled picanha with melted cheese, sliced tomato, and red onion.
  10. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
