  • water - 60 ml
  • vegetable oil - 30 ml
  • salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • ground beef - 100 grams
  • onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • green bell pepper - 1/4, finely chopped
  • tomato - 1 small, diced
  • paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • oil for frying - 500 ml

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until a smooth dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
  2. In a pan over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned. Stir in the green bell pepper, tomato, paprika, black pepper, and parsley. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 2 mm thickness. Cut into circles approximately 10 cm in diameter.
  5. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle, fold in half, and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  6. In a deep pan, heat the oil to 180°C (350°F). Fry the pastéis in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy your Pastel de Feira!
