Ingredients
- all-purpose flour - 150 grams
- water - 60 ml
- vegetable oil - 30 ml
- salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- ground beef - 100 grams
- onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- garlic - 1 clove, minced
- green bell pepper - 1/4, finely chopped
- tomato - 1 small, diced
- paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- oil for frying - 500 ml
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until a smooth dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
- In a pan over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned. Stir in the green bell pepper, tomato, paprika, black pepper, and parsley. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 2 mm thickness. Cut into circles approximately 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle, fold in half, and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
- In a deep pan, heat the oil to 180°C (350°F). Fry the pastéis in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
