Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Butter - 50 grams
  • Cold water - 100 ml
  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Green bell pepper - 1/2, diced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add cold water, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough briefly, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and garlic until translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Stir in the diced tomato, green bell pepper, paprika, black pepper, and parsley. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.
  5. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  6. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 2-3 mm thickness. Cut into circles (approximately 10 cm in diameter).
  7. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  8. Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg.
  9. Arrange the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
