Ingredients

  • Fresh corn kernels - 500 grams
  • Sugar - 100 grams
  • Coconut milk - 150 ml
  • Cornstarch - 40 grams
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Corn husks - for wrapping

Steps

  1. Soak the corn husks in warm water for about 30 minutes to soften them.
  2. In a blender, combine the fresh corn kernels, sugar, coconut milk, cornstarch, salt, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
  3. Take a corn husk, and spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the corn mixture into the center.
  4. Fold the sides of the husk over the mixture, then fold the bottom up to secure it, creating a small parcel. Repeat with the remaining mixture and husks.
  5. Place the parcels in a steamer basket and steam for about 30-35 minutes until firm and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the steamer, let cool slightly, and serve warm or at room temperature.
