Ingredients

  • mashed potatoes - 200 grams
  • all-purpose flour - 150 grams
  • active dry yeast - 7 grams
  • warm water - 100 ml
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast and sugar in warm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, olive oil, salt, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the potato mixture and stir well to combine.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes on a floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30-40 minutes or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  7. After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a small round bun.
  8. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover with a cloth, and let them rise for another 15-20 minutes.
  9. Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
