- mashed potatoes - 200 grams
- all-purpose flour - 150 grams
- active dry yeast - 7 grams
- warm water - 100 ml
- olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- sugar - 1 teaspoon
- salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast and sugar in warm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, olive oil, salt, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth.
- Add the yeast mixture to the potato mixture and stir well to combine.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes on a floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30-40 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a small round bun.
- Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover with a cloth, and let them rise for another 15-20 minutes.
- Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
