Ingredients

  • Chayote - 2 medium-sized
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Heavy cream - 100 ml
  • Parmesan cheese - 50 grams, grated
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped

Steps

  1. Start by washing the chayote and cutting it in half. Remove the seed and slice it into thin strips resembling pasta.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the chayote strips to the skillet and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still slightly crunchy.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring well to combine, then add the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
