- Tomato sauce - 200 grams (no sugar added)
- Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams, shredded
- Parmesan cheese - 50 grams, grated
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a baking dish, layer the zucchini slices as the base. Add half of the beef mixture on top, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining zucchini, beef mixture, and top with the remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
