  • Tomato sauce - 200 grams (no sugar added)
  • Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams, shredded
  • Parmesan cheese - 50 grams, grated
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a baking dish, layer the zucchini slices as the base. Add half of the beef mixture on top, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining zucchini, beef mixture, and top with the remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
