Ingredients
- Fusilli pasta - 200 grams
- Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
- Garlic cloves (minced) - 4
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese - 30 grams (optional)
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fusilli pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- Add the drained fusilli to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to help create a sauce.
- Stir in the chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
- If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving. Serve hot and enjoy!
