- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Parmesan cheese - 20 grams, grated (optional)
Steps
- Rinse the fresh spinach thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the rinsed spinach to the skillet, stirring gently to combine with the onion and garlic. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the spinach wilts and reduces in volume.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If using, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top and mix well to incorporate.
- Remove from heat and serve warm as a side dish.
