- Canned crushed tomatoes - 400 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh basil (for garnish) - a handful
Steps
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball, and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add the oregano. Stir gently to combine, and let simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
