- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Breadcrumbs - 50 grams
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Canned crushed tomatoes - 400 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 1.5 liters
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 3-4 cm in diameter.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown them on all sides for about 6-8 minutes. Remove the meatballs and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Stir well and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let them simmer in the sauce for an additional 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- Drain the spaghetti and serve it on plates topped with the meatballs and sauce. Garnish with extra Parmesan and parsley if desired.
